Prospective candidates showing interest in music and having knowledge in the subject can choose to pursue their music studies at two levels after Primary schooling:
a) Pre-Option Music Programme (POMP); or
b) Malta Visual and Performing Arts (MVPA) school
POMP
The Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes is offering the Pre-Option Music Programme (POMP) in Year 7 and Year 8. Students who are in Year 6 of Primary School and show interest in music can register for this two-year programme, serving as another choice in their educational journey. This programme is offered in the following Middle Schools:
Gozo College
Maria Regina College
St Clare College
St Gorg Preca College
St Ignatius College
St Theresa College
St Thomas More College*
* students from Żejtun Primary and M’Skala Primary schools only.

Instrument/s offered:
Piano, but other instruments may be considered.
Suggested minimum level:
Beginner / Grade 1 in both theory and practice.
Primary School – Music Lessons from Year 1 to Year 6
Middle School – Music Lessons / POMP in Year 7 and Year 8
Secondary School – Music Option from Year 9 to Year 11
Candiates will be asked to sit for an audition.
